Damian Fasher reflects upon 15 years /

Since joining NS Group in 2003 in its foundation year, Damian Fasher has been an integral part of the company’s growth and success. We congratulate him on achieving his 15-year milestone!

Damian started his high-flying career as Airfield Engineer in the Royal Australian Air Force [RAAF]. During six years with the RAAF, he undertook:

  • two tours in Bosnia and Herzegovina completing 13 humanitarian infrastructure and building projects;
  • airfield surveys across regional Australia and Papua New Guinea in support of military and training operations;
  • operations planning and coordination for Dili, Baucau and Sui airfields in East Timor; and
  • improvement of Australia’s deployment capability, including a number of regional airfield construction projects, and procurement of deployable infrastructure such as deployable hospitals, airfield lighting and construction plant.

He continued to soar at NS Group: initially appointed as Senior Project Manager, then promoted to Associate Director and now a Director of the company for the past nine years.

Damian has made a remarkable contribution leading project teams and delivering significant project developments across Australia. In his current role, he works with state managers and sector leaders to drive business development initiatives nationally.

When asked what gets him out of bed every day, Damian said there are always new obstacles that need to be solved – challenges he looks forward to and thrives upon.

“I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to turn problems into opportunities that enhance their business and create great outcomes for their stakeholders and the broader community,” he said.

He revealed that his promotion to Director had been the highlight so far as his proudest moment.

“It’s an absolute honour and a privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility of looking after the interests of our staff and the long-term sustainability of our business,” Damian said.

“I’ve had a front-row seat to watching the company grow from a handful of staff to a national team, so I’m excited for what the future holds.”
