Perth Transformed! /

Following the revamp and transformation of Perth in a decade-long development boom, the New York Times has ranked Perth as the 43rd most preferred place to visit in the world in 2019. The US Newspaper cites several development projects managed by NS Group as the reason for the city’s transformation. NS Group has played a crucial part in the development of some of these top public tourist destinations including Yagan Square, Optus Stadium, Raine Square, QT Hotel and more. The new attractions are said to be luring visitors and promoting tourism growth in a city formally known for its isolated location on Australia’s Western Coast.
Yagan Square has been renowned for being Perth City Link’s crowning feature. The hub for bringing people together to connect, discover and celebrate many of WA’s best produce, heritage and environment. Situated in a crook of highway near the central business district, Yagan Square is a collection of retail markets, market halls, cafés, green spaces and play areas that have become a key meeting and focal point within Perth.
Optus Stadium & The Camfield
Optus Stadium, a 60,000-seat venue for concerts and sporting events, including cricket, was a project that NS Group worked closely alongside in providing the vital transport infrastructure in the delivery of the public transport services to and from the stadium. To meet the requirements of the new stadium, NS Group coordinated with numerous key stakeholders to create the key features of the transport improvements which included a new railway station, pedestrian bridge, upgrades to East Perth station, expanded rail and lane infrastructures and drop-off facilities. As well as transport, NS Group was involved in the entertainment aspects of the stadium with the development of The Camfield Tavern located on the picturesque bands of the Swan River on the Burswood Peninsula. An exciting meeting place which now plays host to excited fans who enjoy the modern, buzzing and sophisticated hospitality precinct.
The knowledge and retail experience NS Group brought to the complex design resulted in the delivery of a truly unique retail offering in the heart of the CBD, that boasts of being a destination for food and leisure. With the City home to some of the most loved retail brands, most awarded restaurants and unique small bars and cafes, Raine Square unites the very best of Perth’s retail, dining and entertainment offer in the heart of Perth city. The new look precinct is an unrivalled seven day-a-week retail, dining and entertainment destination for all to enjoy.
In anticipation of the growing tourism that the surrounding developments would bring to the area, QT was one of the 31 new or redeveloped hotels that have opened in the last five years. The project itself is one of Perth’s most dynamic and exciting hotel brands, with a collection of quirky, personality-driven boutique guestrooms that blend bold designs, digital art installations, curated and quirky ‘objects d’art’ in rooms with buzzy spaces to create a hospitality product that is singularly their own.
The success of the recent developments and boost in Perth tourism is a testament to the hard work and collaboration of the team at NS Group. Together, we are able to connect, empower and lead people to create great places (or at least the 43rd) most preferred place to visit in the world!
