Working on remote projects is a necessary and valuable part of our business. The brief was to maximise amenity for the available budget, which had been cut by half. This $55m (in 2009) redevelopment provided a significant improvement in amenity and service levels – palliative care, cancer treatment, imaging, accident and emergency and ambulatory care. Careful planning, staging and control were needed to keep existing services operational.
Our Role /
NS Group was appointed as Project Manager for the redevelopment.
The role required NS Group to develop a thorough understanding of the facility and evaluate options to provide as much upgrade as possible for the funding available.
The review of the master plan and site services is a key issue which required early attention to identify the opportunities and constraints associated with the site and to establish a priority list of departments to ensure that the budget is spent on those higher priorities.
