Fifteen years of dedication for Stewart Greensmith /

Congratulations to NS Group Director, Stewart Greensmith, as we recognise 15 years of his achievements and contributions to the company!

Since joining in 2005, he has been in a fortunate position to assist with growing the business from very small beginnings to some 55 staff working across 10 sectors and operating in six Australian states and territories.

Stewart has played the lead role in building NS Group’s profile on health sector projects, starting from the initial appointment on Rockingham General Hospital in 2006 to now working on the Joondalup Health Campus redevelopment which is currently the largest health care redevelopment project in Western Australia. He has worked on at least a dozen major health projects in Australia and South Africa. Through this experience, he has been able to develop a skilled health care team within the company.

Reflecting on 15 years at NS Group, Stewart is incredibly proud of this work which he believes would not have been possible without a strong team.

“I’ve really enjoyed working with a like-minded team who strive to go that extra mile because the work is so rewarding and we are good at what we do,” he said.

“One of NS Group’s core strengths is providing upfront strategic advice to clients where we can add tangible value, not just for projects but for our clients’ broader strategic objectives.

“The feedback from our clients has been very positive, especially about how our team enjoy working closely with them to solve problems together.

“Our focus on nurturing client relationships and being a trusted advisor is why we receive a large percentage of our work through repeat clients and word-of-mouth recommendations.”

Stewart is particularly passionate about his work on meaningful projects which are not solely designed to drive a business profit but include clear community-based benefits and social outcomes.

For example, the redevelopment of Kalgoorlie Health Campus significantly improved amenity and service levels for palliative care; cancer treatment; imaging; and accident, emergency and ambulatory care in the local region to the benefit of the community far and wide. Stewart was encouraged to see the CEO and staff so invested in the works, generously giving their time during and after hours, and being open to consider alternate options to enhance overall project outcomes.

Another highlight was developing the new Building 304, a state-of-the-art research facility for the Centre for Crop and Disease Management [CCDM] at Curtin University’s Bentley campus through an innovative procurement process. A national research centre co-supported by the University and the Grains Research and Development Corporation, CCDM’s research discoveries are estimated to save industry more than $100m each year.

Despite his achievements over the years, Stewart has plenty more to give.

From his responsibilities at the NS Group Board level through to day-to-day project director and mentoring activities, Stewart’s dedication to his work, his team and the industry are evident.

“My aspiration is to share my skills across the ‘shop floor’ so that when the day comes for me to move to my next chapter, I can leave a real legacy in the business from which others can benefit.”
