04 May 2020
Senior Project Manager, Jeff Gidman, is enjoying the diverse projects and the challenges that each day brings. We congratulate him on five years with NS Group!
In the relatively short time that Jeff has spent with the company to date, it has already seen him take on a range of projects and collect a series of accomplishments.
Jeff’s very first project at NS Group in 2015 was to develop a social housing policy in the Pilbara region for an Indigenous group. Fast forward to now and one of his current projects is the demolition and remediation of Princess Margaret Hospital.
In 2019, Jeff’s Engineering Annex [Building 27] Stage 2 project for Edith Cowan University won a Project Management Achievement Award. Last year, he also became a Certified Practising Project Director [CPPD] through the Australian Institute of Project Management [AIPM].
A qualified and experienced project manager and civil engineer, Jeff brings highly complementary skills to benefit every client’s project.
“I really enjoy taking projects from the early stages of design right through to completion and having valuable input into the entire process,” he said.
“My role can be challenging and that’s what makes it so rewarding – there’s never a dull day and always with something new to learn.
“I also get a lot of satisfaction in receiving repeat work from clients or hearing of their recommendations to others, as it validates the great outcomes and positive experiences that they’ve had.”
As NS Group’s Infrastructure and Resources sector lead, Jeff said, “My focus on these types of projects means that I get to work on projects capable of making a big difference.”
“Some examples include the redevelopment of Subiaco Oval which will enable the community to play on the oval for the first time in decades.
“The past 15 years have taken me many times to Port Hedland and now I’m managing the redevelopment of Port Hedland International Airport to give it a much-needed facelift.
“My journey has been an exciting one so far and I’m looking forward to what the future will bring.”
“I really enjoy taking projects from the early stages of design right through to completion and having valuable input into the entire process.”
Jeff has 18 years’ project experience in the property development, transportation and mining industries gained through working at international and national consultancies.
His capabilities extend across built form, residential land development, road and bridge projects, heavy haul rail, greenfield mine developments, and both process and non-process mining infrastructure projects.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honours and a Bachelor of Commerce [General Management & Corporate Finance] from the University of Western Australia.
He is a Certified Practising Project Director [CPPD] and a Member of the Australian Institute of Project Management [MAIPM]. Jeff is also a Chartered Professional Engineer [CPEng] and a Member of Engineers Australia [MIEAust].
